Privacy Policy — Stubb

Stubb is an expense-tracking app for freelancers and small business owners, published by YS Business Services LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information Stubb collects, how it's used, and your choices.

1) Information We Collect

• Account information: email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the name and email associated with that account.
• Receipt images and PDFs you upload or photograph within the app.
• Expense data derived from your receipts (vendor, amount, date, category) — either extracted automatically or entered manually by you.
• Basic app usage data needed to operate the service (e.g., error logs), collected via Firebase.
• Free demo scan: before creating an account, you can try scanning one receipt for free. This uses a temporary, anonymous session that collects no name, email, or account information — just the receipt image itself, for that one scan.

We do not collect or request access to your bank accounts, credit card numbers, or other financial accounts. Stubb works entirely from receipts you provide yourself.

2) How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core service: storing your expenses, syncing them across your devices, and generating tax-time exports (CSV/PDF).
• Receipt images are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for automated reading (vendor, amount, date, category extraction). This happens server-side; the extracted result is shown to you for review before anything is saved.
• To manage your account and subscription.
• To maintain and improve the app's reliability.
• Improving receipt-reading accuracy: receipts scanned through the free demo (i.e., before an account exists) are not tied to any name, email, or account, and may be kept afterward and reviewed internally to test and improve the accuracy of our receipt-reading technology. Receipts scanned within your account are never used this way.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.

3) Third-Party Services We Use

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database (Firestore), and file storage for your receipts and expense data.
• Anthropic (Claude API): processes receipt images/PDFs to extract structured data. Images are sent for this specific purpose only.
• RevenueCat, Apple, and Google: handle subscription billing. Stubb does not receive or store your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Apple/Google's own payment systems.

4) Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Firebase, isolated per account — no other user can access your expenses or receipts. Data is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS).

5) Your Choices

• You can delete individual expenses at any time within the app.
• To delete your account and all associated data, email contact@ysbusinessservices.com from your account's email address. We will confirm deletion within a reasonable time.
• Because the free demo scan collects no name, email, or account information, a specific demo scan can't be individually identified or requested for deletion after the fact.

6) Children's Privacy

Stubb is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7) Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
